Work setup - Yes, we do have wi-fi!
Although CocoVivo is far from the power grid and runs off solar energy, we do have a reliable internet connection. We currently have 256kbit/s, which can be upgraded as needed. The current speed is enough for skype video conversations. Latency is about 250ms, the connection goes to town via long-distance wifi, and from there via DSL.
There is wi-fi in several places, including the cabin on the water and the main house on the hill.
The main caveats are deadlines and distractions. If you're easily distracted and lose focus, yet have to get things done on a schedule, then this might not work out for you. If taking an occasional break from work reenergizes you and then lets you focus, you'll love it.
